Jerzy Sokol, Counsel
Jerzy Sokol brings a wealth of international experience to the firm. He is a multi-lingual (fluent in English, Polish, with working knowledge of Russian and Italian) and multi-jurisdictional lawyer trained in the United States and the European Union. Throughout the years he has been representing many individual and business clients, including the Permanent Mission of Poland to the UN, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, and the Commercial Section of Poland, in connection with commercial litigation and commercial leases; ranges of commercial agreements, construction and purchase agreements through the application of relevant regulations, including public procurements, as well as applicable legal and regulatory requirements of state and federal laws.
Jerzy's present practice is focused on civil litigation and recognition of foreign judgements, business and corporate matters, as well as property restitution claims and recovery of property. Jerry also handles matters of inheritance, probate, and wills, and assists clients in the acquisition of Polish citizenship.
Admitted to the New York Bar in 1997, Jerzy is licensed to practice law in New York, Poland, England, and Wales. He is admitted to the Eastern and Southern District Courts of New York. Jerzy holds a Masters in Law from the University of Warsaw School of Law and the University of Connecticut School of Law.
